Holiday Stress

We’re in the midst of the holidays and I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to feel it.  The stress, anxiety and pressure.  A lot of us feel these things during the holidays.

You might be feeling it too.  As you get closer to the end of the year, there are more parties to go to, celebrations with family and friends, shopping for the perfect gift and the food.  Everything seems to be more decadent during the holidays.

How do you get through it?

We all have our ways, but here are a few recommendations that will help.

Schedule your Time.  When you schedule your time, you can look ahead and see what events or activities you have coming.  Scheduling also helps you to avoid overbooking yourself.  Try to do only one or two things on each weekend day.  You will still have time for you and to do things around the house, like cleaning, laundry and food prep.  Use a planner, like the Simplified Planner to help you keep track of your time. It’s an old school way of keeping your schedule with pen and paper, but it will give you a month view and a daily view. It even gives me space to write a daily gratitude.  You can use your smartphone calendar too! This will let you have your schedule at your fingertips.  Try a few different ways and find a method that’s right for you.

Create a Habit.  I’m not talking about just any habit, but a habit that will help you stay in check this holiday season.  It can be anything you desire, but try to find something that will help you maintain calm and keep a balance.  One example would be to take about 10 minutes to practice a guided meditation.  It will help you focus and get in the right mindset for the day.  Another example is to make sure you do your workouts each week.  Exercise keeps you healthy and helps you balance out all the extra calories that might hit your plate during the holiday parties.  Keep it short so you’re not spending a ton of time, but you’re getting in something good for your body.

Carrying Crystals.  Have you ever heard about the power of crystals?  Carrying or wearing crystals with you almost every day can give you power to get through the day. Each crystal or stone has a different power.  If you’re worried about questions, this is something you can do without too people knowing.  One of the best stones to carry is quartz.  It helps break negativity, clear your mind and focus to stay calm.  Quartz amplifies positive intentions too!  Do some research to find out which is the right stone for you.  To help you get started, go to Energy Muse’s quiz to see what you’re searching for help with.
