5 Ways to Deal With Stress

We all experience stress. Some handle it much better than others. As a Coach, I even experience stress. Sometimes I handle it well and other times I don’t. But over the years, I’ve learned 5 ways to deal with it and I want to share them with you.

Keep Things Clean!

When I get stressed, the first thing I do is clean. I clean the surfaces in my home, organize papers, wash clothes, etc. Cleaning helps divert your mind from the issues you’re dealing with and gets something done. I used stress as my motivator to clean recently and in just an hour, I had a sparkling bathroom and clean kitchen.

Go Pound the Pavement

If it’s nice weather, get your butt outside. Whether you run or walk, either way works to release the stress. Pounding the pavement just means move your body. When you move, you release the toxins from your body and avoid thinking about the stress for a bit. Plus, you fit in fitness. It’s a win-win!

Get the Thoughts Out

Journaling is something that works for a lot of people. There isn’t a right or wrong way to journal either. You can bullet journal for getting tasks done, practice morning pages or just brainstorm and get the thoughts out of your head. When you’re stressed, write about it and see what comes from it. You may find the answers you’re looking for.

Treat Yo Self Day

While this isn’t for everyone, a day to treat yourself is right up my alley. Traditional spas can be expensive, but you can bring the spa to you and save a TON of money. On the days that I do a spa day, I soak in a hot bath with Himalayan salts and crystals, give myself a facial and maybe even paint my nails. When I’m done, I feel refreshed, relaxed and feel prettier.

Escape to Another World

Most of us don’t have the luxury of jumping on a plane and traveling to Fiji on a last minute whim. But you can still escape to another world by picking up a good book. My reading list ranges from personal development to fiction stories that take me to another place. And if it’s a good book, you get a chance to block out the real world for a bit.

There you have it! My5 ways to deal with stress. These are simple ways you can deal with stress and still live your life. While stress can seem daunting, it can be helpful in such a way that it motivates you to act. If you’re feeling stressed, choose a healthy activity that will lift you up and make you feel better.
