There’s something both exciting and a little emotional about writing this post.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you know me as Jenn Mullen, The Mindful Virtual Assistant. That name has meant everything to me. It captured who I am, what I do, and how I show up for my clients. With intention, care, and a genuine desire to help overwhelmed founders breathe a little easier.
So when I tell you that I’m stepping into something new—Beachcomber Business Solutions—I want to be really clear about one thing: The name is changing, I am not.
How We Got Here
The Mindful Virtual Assistant was built on a simple belief: that the right systems can transform a chaotic, overwhelming business into something that actually feels good to run. I’ve watched that happen for my clients over and over again. And every single time, it reminds me why I started this in the first place.
As my business grew, so did my vision for it. Beachcomber Business Solutions is the next chapter—a bigger, clearer expression of the work I’ve always been doing. I have the same heart and the same values. But now, I also have a whole lot more room to grow.
What’s Staying the Same
The work I do isn’t changing. The systems and operations support will still be here. I’m still the person who genuinely gets excited about a well-organized Google Drive and considers “inbox zero” a form of self-care.
The approach isn’t changing. I’m still very mindful, structured, and have zero tolerance for hustle-culture nonsense. Moving into this next phase, I’ll have enve more structure, and less stress. Which is kind ofthe whole point.
You aren’t changing. If you’re reading this and a current client, nothing shifts on your end. But if you’ve been thinking about working together, now you have a better front door to walk through.
Why “Beachcomber”?
As a girl who grew up close to Cape Cod, I spent my summers at the beach. Playing in the sand, walking the shore, and finding just the right shell to take home with me. Those summers allowed me to avoid the hustle and bustle of life. Yes, even as a kid. A beachcomber is just that. They walk intentionally, look closely at the sand, and find value in what others overlook. I approach business systems very similarly. Slowing down enough to see what’s actually there, what’s missing, and what’s just creating noise.
The name came to me while I was sitting in a dark theater with my eyes closed in 2024. I was at a conference for women in business, and it was one of those pivotal moments for me. It was Day 2 of the conference, and we were meditating and dreaming about our future lives. I remember having tears streaming down my cheeks and just telling myself, “I want to be happy… I want to be free…” And out of nowhere, this voice spoke to me. It said, “Beachcomber Business Solutions.” That’s it. At the time, I didn’t know what it meant, but it felt right.
Always The Mindful VA
The truth is, deep down, I will always be The Mindful Virtual Assistant. In every way that counts. It’s not a brand—it’s literally how I operate. It’s the lens I look through when I’m untangling someone’s CRM, building out their onboarding workflow, or helping them finally stop dreading Monday morning.
Beachcomber Business Solutions is where that work lives now. I have a few more pieces to wrap up, but we’re almost ready for a full launch. And I couldn’t be more excited to bring you with me. Stay tuned—there’s a lot more coming.
