Holiday Stress

UPDATED 02/21/2025

Feeling the holiday stress yet? We’re in the midst of the holidays and I’m definitely starting to feel it. The stress, the anxiety, and the pressure-a lot of us feel these things during the holidays.

If you’re feeling it too, it’s not out of the norm. As we get closer to the end of the year, there are more parties to go to, more celebrations with family and friends, shopping for food and the perfect gift, etc. Everything seems to be more over the top and decadent during the holidays. So how do you get through it? We all have our ways, but here are a few recommendations that may help.

Schedule your time. When you do this, you’ll be able to look ahead and see what’s coming down the pipeline. Looking ahead also helps you avoid overbooking yourself. Around the holidays, I try to only do one or two things each weekend. That way I still have time for me and to do things around my house. If it helps, use a planner. You can find a few of my favorite planners here. Yes, it’s an old school way of keeping your schedule but it gives you a bird’s eye view. Use your smartphone to have access to all your upcoming events at your fingertips. Experiment and see what works for you.

Create a habit. I’m not talking about just any habit. Rather habits that will help you stay in check this holiday season. It can be anything you desire but try to find something that will help you maintain a sense of calm. One habit I do regularly is journal. Whether it’s writing in a guided journal or just brain dumping in my leather notebook, it allows me to get my thoughts out of my head. Whatever you do, choose something you enjoy doing.

Carrying crystals. You’re probably thinking “rocks can’t help me” but I want to challenge you. Crystals can be so powerful and each stone has a different power.. When you carry or wear them, they help you without you even knowing it. What I love about this is you can do something for yourself without anyone else knowing. Quartz is a go-to crystal. It helps break up negativity, clear your mind, and focus on staying calm. It also amplifies your positive intentions too. To help you figure out which stone you need, go to Energy Muse’s quiz to see what support you need.
