Stop Using This One Dirty Little Word!

Have you ever used a “dirty little word”? You know the ones I’m talking about… Or, maybe you don’t. But there’s one word that I want to focus on for this post. That word is “can’t”.

When you use this dirty little word, “can’t”, it automatically triggers a reaction in your brain. One that makes you think that whatever you’re using that word in regards to is forbidden, or against some set of rules. When you use this word, it makes whatever you want harder to resist.

Throughout our lives, we have both positive and negative experiences. For some of us, negative energy sticks with us easier than does positive energy. And it all starts with the dirty little word “can’t”. Just like that piece of cake, we hear that word all the time. People even tell us that we can’t do something and then we actually start to believe it. I used to be one of those people.

I always had a “glass is half empty” mindset. When people told me I couldn’t do something, I believed them! I’ve changed over the years, and while the word “can’t” is still part of my vocabulary, it’s no longer prominent. Now, I hardly use it in my day-to-day life. You’d be surprised how easy it was to almost remove. Let me show you how.

When you say “I can’t have that piece of cake, I’m watching my figure.” that tells the Universe that it’s against the rules to have a piece of cake. Instead, try saying it differently. “I’m going to pass this time around” or a simple “No, thank you.” are two good options that will help you change your mindset.

Do you see how using the word “can’t” can have a negative, mental impact? Using the word “can’t” invites a negative mindset to take hold and that will ultimately control everything in your life. Start changing your mindset, one thought at a time, and you’ll get your life to have a much more positive outlook.
